Salted Caramel Protein Balls

These balls are soooo yummy. They’re filled with protein (protein powder and cashews), healthy fats (cashews) and carbs (dates) which makes them the perfect snack for pre/during/post training. I made a big batch of these to take with me to a 4 hour event I competed in at my gym recently, and these kept me going throughout the day. These had raving reviews from everyone who tried them too!

These are refined sugar free, gluten free and vegan.

Ingredients

  • 10 soft and gooey pitted medjool dates (if they’re on the harder side, soak them in boiling water for 5 minutes until softened)

  • 1/2 cup of cashews + additional for serving

  • 20-40g of caramel flavoured protein powder - I use Honeycomb flavoured Pranaon Photo Fire which will forever be my favourite protein powder

  • Pinch of sea salt

Method

  1. Blend a handful of cashews in a food processor until they’re roughly chopped and set aside. These will be used later!

  2. Add dates and remaining cashews to the food processor and blitz until combined into a doughy consistency

  3. Add protein powder and blitz again until combined

  4. Roll mixture into bite sized balls and then roll again in the chopped cashews until they’re completely coated

  5. Sprinkle sea salt on top of each protein ball and enjoy!

Love,

Dominique
